Meet James Hoese, DPT, CSCS – Santa Rosa’s Expert in Sports Therapy & Injury Prevention
Dr. James Hoese, DPT, CSCS, is the founder of PreventPT and a leading expert in sports physical therapy, injury prevention, and performance training in Santa Rosa and Rincon Valley. With over 20 years of experience, he specializes in knee and shoulder rehabilitation, helping athletes, weekend warriors, and active individuals stay strong and pain-free.
A former collegiate soccer player at UC Berkeley, James’s own athletic journey sparked his passion for biomechanics, movement optimization, and injury prevention. He earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Southern California and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Before moving to Sonoma County, he worked directly with one of San Francisco’s top knee and shoulder specialists, refining his expertise in ACL rehab, rotator cuff injuries, and advanced movement therapy.
James is also a dedicated member of the Santa Rosa community. He lives in Rincon Valley with his wife, Dr. Amanda Delwiche, a local dentist and fellow business owner, and their two boys, who are passionate soccer players. His firsthand experience as a parent of young athletes fuels his commitment to youth sports injury prevention and high-performance training for soccer, skiing, golf, running, surfing, and mountain biking.
