Frequently asked questions

How long will my appointment last?

💬 Follow-up visits are 60 minutes, while initial evaluations last 90 minutes. The premier assessment for ACL risk and athletic readiness lasts 2 hours.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

💬 Please bring any relevant medical records, past imaging reports (if available), and a list of current medications or supplements. If you have a referral or paperwork from another provider, bring that as well. And don’t forget your preferred payment method, as payment is due at the time of service.

Do you accept insurance?

💬 PreventPT is an out-of-network provider, but we make it easy—we’ll bill your insurance for you. There’s no need to submit claims on your own. We operate as a fee-for-service practice, which means payment is due at the time of your appointment, and your insurance will reimburse you directly based on the provisions of your plan.

Do you accept Medicare?

💬 PreventPT does not accept Medicare, and we do not provide rehabilitation services to Medicare beneficiaries. If you are seeking rehab care, you will need to see a Medicare-participating provider. However, we can see individuals with Medicare for wellness, injury prevention, and performance training—services that fall outside of medically necessary rehabilitation. These services are offered on a cash-pay basis and are not reimbursable by Medicare.

What should I wear?

💬 Wear comfortable, athletic clothing that allows for full movement. If wearing leggings, make sure they can be pulled up above the knee for proper assessment. Also, bring the shoes you typically train or move in—especially if you use orthotics, as we may assess your gait and foot mechanics.

What if I need to reschedule or cancel?

💬 You can reschedule or cancel your appointment using the online booking link above. Please refer to the cancellation policy outlined in the booking system for details. A 24-hour notice is required, and missed appointments may be subject to a cancellation fee.

How much will my insurance reimburse me?

💬 We can verify your out-of-network benefits and let you know what to expect. For most PPO plans, patients are commonly reimbursed 60–80% of the allowed amount once their deductible is met. However, HMO plans do not allow for out-of-network reimbursement, so those patients are typically responsible for the full cost of care.

What types of patients do you work with?

💬 We work with athletes, active individuals, and anyone looking to move better, prevent injuries, or recover from pain. Whether you’re dealing with a sports injury, looking to improve your performance, or simply want to stay pain-free, we tailor treatment to your needs.
