Jim is an excellent PT and provides a top notch service. I have had knee issues all of my life and because of this I have unfortunately developed many compensation patterns. Jim provided a thorough examination and developed a personalized plan to address my issues. He explains movement limitations along with the movements needed to improve mobility and strength which empowers the patient to work independently. He even sent information to my personal trainer to get her on board with my treatment plan. It has been an amazing experience. I recommend Jim with the highest regards!
Jim Hoese and Prevent PT are amazing and awesome and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing help in injuring rehabilitation, sports performance or any other type of personal training. He has a state of the art facility loaded with all sorts of equipment. I started working with Jim about 14 months ago when he helped me recover from a full hip replacement and more recently with a herniated disc in my lower back. He is a true professional and has a terrific understanding and knowledge of the body and how it all works and his ability to explain what exactly happened and how we are going to treat it is thorough, detailed and easy to understand. He helped design a program and timeline of exercises (in his facility and at home) and videos (that he took of me) that helped me make a full recovery and get back into living an active, pain free lifestyle. I was able to return to jogging, golfing, skiing and doing all of the same activity I was doing before the injuries. I can't thank Jim enough!
Jim is a rock star. In only a few weeks/twice a week he released my post surgery frozen ankle using manual therapy and direct, videotaped instructions(those tapes really helped afterwards, to get the exercises done at home). He understands anatomy and best strategies for recovery. You are there one on one, absolutely private and focused appointments. Thanks Jim for all your hard work.

I had arthroscopic knee surgery and needed good PT.

I have been working with Jim Hoese at Prevent PT for almost a year. He helped me rehab a recurring knee injury and is currently helping rehab after total knee replacement surgery. His diagnostic and therapeutic skills are stellar. Not only does he provide strengthening programs and suggestions for home exercises, he provided expert manual manipulation of my knee to decrease scar tissue and increase range of movement. Perhaps a bonus is that Jim is motivational, kind and professional. Very attentive and available.
Dr. Hoese was a lifesaver for me. I was coming out of an injury on top of shoulder surgery and I was in 11/10 pain. I struggled to find a PT that could offer personalized service. After seeing 3 PTs that offered 10 min of hands on and then put me on some generic ice machine or stim, I needed to find someone that was willing to devise a short. medium, and long-term plan and someone willing to take that journey with me. Dr. Hoese is that person. He is interested in not only treating symptoms, but treating the root cause of the issue. I find most PTs miss this point entirely. Dr. Hoese runs this business and is hands on the whole 60+ minutes. He regularly follows up in between visits and gives you milestones and exercises to hit before the next visit. I went from unable to function/sleep to seeing a recovery path in short order. I would recommend Dr. Hoese to anyone that takes recovery seriously and wants to get back to a pain free life. Thanks Dr. Hoese for all of your differentiated service. It's hard to find people that truly care. Thanks again for getting me back to life!

In June of 2021, I was injured playing soccer. I was unable to drive for a while so it was so helpful that Jim was able to come to my house for my therapy appointments. He is very professional, knowledgeable, caring & compassionate. You can tell he enjoys his profession & is passionate about helping you get back to doing the things you enjoy. I also really like that Jim plays soccer because I think it helps him understand my desire to get back onto the soccer field. Jim explained everything in detail about what had to take place before surgery as well as after surgery & what I should expect. He was instrumental in getting me ready for my ACL replacement surgery that I had in September 2021. Jim actually helped me figure out that I had blood clots in my leg post surgery & I am not sure if I would have figured out so quickly what was going on without his help. He was very patient & kind & helped me reach out to my surgeon to get an ultrasound scheduled the same day. Having blood clots slowed down my rehab but Jim was there the whole time checking in on me. I am so grateful that I found Jim and I will recommend him to all of my family and friends.

Maybe you've had training at different places, but I doubt you've had a DPT like Jim. His knowledge of the body's mechanics helps you realize why the exercises you're doing will make a difference in every part of your life. After years of trying many trainers finally a person who can explain the connections of strength to movement, cause to effect. It's going to take a while to help improve my mobility, and core strength. Exercises are geared to each person after his analysis of your movement, strength and health specific to you. Working with someone as knowledgeable as Dr. Hoese is like a post graduate course in human biodynamics geared to a level I actually understand-for the first time ever.
I have worked with so many different PT's and trainers. However, none were like Jim. He has an excellent knowledge of body mechanics and keen ability to find problem spots and then develop solutions.

I never leave reviews, but Dr. Hoese has given me my life back. I've suffered from back problems for over 20 years due to herniated discs. My routine has been a few months feeling good then POP-a few months stuck on the couch. Wash and repeat. 20 f'ing years! I've gone through more PT's/doctors/acupuncturists/voodoo healers and spine specialists than I can remember. I've tried everything short of surgery. My last flare up had me in so much pain I couldn't sleep for weeks. I had a steroid injection that helped a little but my doc was convinced it's time for surgery if therapy didn't help significantly this time around. Due to COVID I wasn't able to see the regular chiro or PT I had been going to and that's when I found out Prevent PT was offering their service online. Not going to lie, I was skeptical about it as all I wanted was someone to put their hands on me to relieve the pain. But Dr Hoese took a long term approach not only helping me with ways to relieve the pain, but assessing and diagnosing my structural strengths and weaknesses and implementing a plan. It's been 2 months since I started working with Dr. Hoese and I've got my life back. I'm stronger and finally getting back to surfing, running, and enjoying what I love, being active.

I went to prevent PT with what was diagnosed by a podiatrist as arthritis of my ankle. Very often when I rode my bike, I would hurt my ankle to the point where I thought I had sprained it. The podiatrist told me I had arthritis in my ankle and told me to stretch my calves. This was a little helpful, but didn't get to the heart of the problem. Jim of prevent PT got to the heart of the problem very quickly. I had tendinitis of a very small but important tendon. Jim recommended I get orthotics which compensated for a weak arch that caused the tendonitis. He gave me exercises to strengthen the calf muscle/tendon responsible. This solved 90% of the problem for me. I also got great tips for working on my 67-year-old left hip issue which has been bothering me for over 35 years. Jim gave me a diagnosis which made sense. He described aspects of joint mechanics that I was not aware of, and gave me several exercises, which have helped very much. I recommended Prevent PT for anybody wanting to understand their muscle and joint mechanics and the proper stretch, stretches and exercises to alleviate pain and allow you to get back to your active life.

After months of no pt training. I finally got some sessions authorized. I was referred to Jim, he has a tremendous amount of help in my rotator cuff rehab and strengthening. I would highly recommend him. he not only goes after the current concern, but takes in past injuries. He helps train in away that should help you not injure yourself in the future.

Excellent service! I had initially contacted several PT in the area, and Jim is the only one that called back and left a detailed voicemail of what he would need to know & how he could help. The initial phone conversation as well as every single session were very helpful. Each session includes a consultation as well as PT.
